Favorite Things

So I'm stealing this idea from Munchkinetta's mom. These are some of Lillian's current favorites.

She LOVES to color. I have to leave a box of crayons on her table with a sheet of paper at all times. She will go back to the crayons over and over again throughout the day. She really loves markers too, although she only gets to use those when I'm sitting with her. She asks for them all the time. Today when we were in AC Moore we went past the crayola aisle and she got so excited, yelling over and over for them.

She loves all books, but this is her current favorite. This is the book my mom gave me for my first Mother's Day. It's a collection of 5 stories, and we have to read at least one of the every night before bed. She likes to read it to herself as well, especially the Stinky Face story. She loves all her other books as well, she spends alot of time reading them during the day while we are playing in the living room.

Dancing in her tutu to "I Hope You Dance" with Angelina Ballerina. Daddy bought her the tutu for Christmas because she loves to dance around her room each night with Angelina. Now they match each other while they dance.

Pat Pat Pat Pat Pat BLAST OFF!
The Little Einsteins are a definite favorite right now. The tv show, the books, the bath toys - if it has Rocket, Annie, Leo, June or Quincy she loves it.

She likes Elmo alot more than mommy does. She enjoyed Sesame Street Live, likes to drag around her Elmo from Grandpa and Nannie that is as big as she is, and likes to talk to Elmo at Nana's house over the Webcam.

She will do anything to get to a computer. Including climbing her toybox to get onto the desk when Mommy and Daddy aren't looking.

Last but definitely not least, Bear. Bear has become Lillian's security item. We now have 5 of them, just in case something happens to one because she can't go to bed without it.

Busy Week

It has been a busy week for all of us. Last weekend we went up to Massachusetts to visit. After a 4 hour drive Lily was very happy to get out of the car and run around The MathWorks while I visited. It was her idea of heaven, a computer in every room she walked into! We stayed with Auntie Jenn and Uncle Sean for the weekend, Lily spent most of the weekend giving the fish kisses.

Monday morning we had swim class. She is really getting good at blowing bubbles and kicking and paddling. Tuesday and Wednesday Buby came to visit, and Nana stayed with us from Tuesday to Thursday as well. I got to sleep in a little while on Wednesday morning before we went to Little Gym, and then for a long time on Thursday. Lily loves going up to the guest room with Nana to cuddle in bed and watch Little Einsteins, then knock on the ceiling for the "ghost". Thursday and Friday I started watching Amon, Lily isn't sure what she thinks of him. There is definitely more jealously towards Amon than to Buby, probably because Amon needs more of my time since he's younger.

Lily's daddy is off today and tomorrow, so this morning we all got to have breakfast together, then we decided to check out the local flea market. Lily got a new ball like the pink one she loves from Nana and Pop Steve. This way she and Buby can each play with one when he's visiting. Now she's napping and I think I'm going to go take a nap too.

My First Post

Since Lillian is changing so quickly and doing new things almost every day, I decided to try creating a blog to keep everyone up to date on her latest news. Hopefully I'll find time to update it every couple of days or so.

We are still taking swim classes, she had the last class of her 4th session today! She really enjoys going to swim class, especially since she usually gets to swim with her daddy. She kicks and paddles, blows bubbles, and jumps into the pool. We are also still going to The Little Gym once a week, we just started the second session. She can swing on the bars now, walks on the balance beam (almost running) and can almost do a somersault all by herself. She gets excited and starts kicking and screeching as soon as we pull into the parking lot.

She wasn't too happy about all the snow we got last week. It was too deep for her to walk on her own, and she was mad at me because we couldn't bring her police car out to drive in the snow. She did enjoy her sled for a few minutes and took her mitten of to experience the snow. She took a bite of it and was a little surprised by how cold it was.

She has a large sign language vocabulary now, and is able to tell me what she wants or needs. She is so proud of herself whenever she uses a new sign, her newest one is "help". She is also turning into a monkey, she climbs on everything these days! She called me from the kitchen the other day, she had climbed up into her highchair all by herself. Nothing in the house is safe anymore. Even the cats can't hide from her anymore.
