Lilypad Princess does really well in restaurants and waiting rooms, even when you have to wait awhile, mostly due to today's favorite toy.
Nana put together a collection of small animals in a nice travel-sized box. She printed up a photo of each one, put facts about the animal on the back and laminated them. I spread the cards out on the table, and put a wrong animal on each one. LP loves to help me learn my animals as she corrects me and matches up each animal with its card.
Nana and LP are continuing to collect new animals as a special way to remember places or events (like her new kangaroo to match her Halloween costume).
