A Butterfly Garden
On the advice on Munchkinetta's mom, we recently took a trip to a butterfly garden. Lilypad Princess wanted to see some butterflies while waiting for her caterpillars to hatch. It is actually a plant nursery on a farm, and the owner's love of butterflies had her turn one of their large greenhouses into a butterfly habitat.
We were the only people there and were able to spend as much time as we wanted checking out the beautiful butterflies, trying to entice them with a little gatorade to sit on our fingers, and smelling all the beautiful flowers.
They sell all kinds of plants, especially ones with beautiful flowers that attract butterflies and hummingbirds. We bought another Imperial Purple Butterfly Bush that matches the one we have and love, 4 Fan Scarlett Lobella, and a basil plant. It was such a relaxing place, we will definitely return, especially in the spring when we need some new plants.

I didn't know that basil was a butterfly attractor. No wonder we have so many in our backyard - I picked basil for the herb pots I keep on our deck this year.
Not only do I get fresh pesto we have lots of beautiful butterflies, when it isn't raining that is.
Looks like so much fun! I'll really have to make it over there with Buby.
