Ballet

Lilypad Princess has narrowed her Halloween costume down to 2 choices - a witch and Angelina Ballerina. Since we already have most of the Angelina costume, I thought we would pick up some ballet slippers for her yesterday so if she does decide on to be the dancing mouse we will be all set. The ballet slippers were a bigger hit than I even imagined. As soon as they were on her feet she took off dancing around the store. She told me that she was doing piroettes and arabesques. She might have been since I don't know what either of those are!

Rain, Rain Go Away

After all the beautiful spring weather we have had lately, Lilypad Princess was very disappointed to be stuck inside because of rain earlier this week. We opened a window to let her check out the raindrop which she tried to catch on her tongue. Rain Rain Go Away

Making Cupcakes

Lilypad Princess told me that Lilypad Dad had to have cake for his birthday. So last night I measured out everything she would need, then stood back to let her work.

She started off by cracking the eggs into the bowl. She wasn't very happy about it getting on her hands, but she did a great job, no shells in the bowl!

Next she poured in the pre-measured water and oil.

Then in went the cake mix, not a speck fell missed the bowl.

Time to mix, mix, mix.

As she was filling the pan with the liners, I was being amazed with how neat the whole process had been.

I must have jinxed myself.

Or I just should have known better than to encourage her to take the batter outside of the bowl.

But she got them all filled!

One More From Today

A song, A Treasure Chest, and Snow

It never fails to amaze me how many different places her imagination takes her, all at the same time.

A Blast From The Past

As I was trying to figure out how to add the new story video, I found these two that I had uploaded a long time ago but forgot about. I can't believe that my baby has changed so much in such a short time.

Hayride, Pumpkin Patch, & MOOO cows

Lilypad Princess and her friend Alessandro, along with their mommies, took a trip to a local farm yesterday for the afternoon. First up was a hayride out to the pumpkin patch. The highlight of the hayride was the Scottish Highland cows that came right up to the wagon to eat carrots right out of our hands. LP had more fun calling the horses thank she did picking out pumpkins, she thought you were supposed to feed the pumpkins to them.

After the hayride returned, there was all sorts of fun things for the kids to do. Bounce houses and a bounce slide tired out the mommies, a hay maze is always fun to run through, and sheep , goats, geese, a baby cow kept the kids occupied for hours.

The favorite thing of the day for LP was definitely the baby cow. She was convinced that the cow was talking just to her.

18 Month Check-up

We had Lillian's 18 month doctor's appointment this morning. She is now 32.5 inches long and 22 pounds. She's in the 75th percentile for height and a little below the 25th for weight.

According to the dr she is doing great. She's healthy and hitting all her milestones. She showed the dr just how well she understands and follows what she's told, and even showed off one of her favorite works, color. She wanted the dr's pen to color with.

I've uploaded a bunch of new videos to UTube.

Busy Week

It has been a busy week for all of us. Last weekend we went up to Massachusetts to visit. After a 4 hour drive Lily was very happy to get out of the car and run around The MathWorks while I visited. It was her idea of heaven, a computer in every room she walked into! We stayed with Auntie Jenn and Uncle Sean for the weekend, Lily spent most of the weekend giving the fish kisses.

Monday morning we had swim class. She is really getting good at blowing bubbles and kicking and paddling. Tuesday and Wednesday Buby came to visit, and Nana stayed with us from Tuesday to Thursday as well. I got to sleep in a little while on Wednesday morning before we went to Little Gym, and then for a long time on Thursday. Lily loves going up to the guest room with Nana to cuddle in bed and watch Little Einsteins, then knock on the ceiling for the "ghost". Thursday and Friday I started watching Amon, Lily isn't sure what she thinks of him. There is definitely more jealously towards Amon than to Buby, probably because Amon needs more of my time since he's younger.

Lily's daddy is off today and tomorrow, so this morning we all got to have breakfast together, then we decided to check out the local flea market. Lily got a new ball like the pink one she loves from Nana and Pop Steve. This way she and Buby can each play with one when he's visiting. Now she's napping and I think I'm going to go take a nap too.

My First Post

Since Lillian is changing so quickly and doing new things almost every day, I decided to try creating a blog to keep everyone up to date on her latest news. Hopefully I'll find time to update it every couple of days or so.

We are still taking swim classes, she had the last class of her 4th session today! She really enjoys going to swim class, especially since she usually gets to swim with her daddy. She kicks and paddles, blows bubbles, and jumps into the pool. We are also still going to The Little Gym once a week, we just started the second session. She can swing on the bars now, walks on the balance beam (almost running) and can almost do a somersault all by herself. She gets excited and starts kicking and screeching as soon as we pull into the parking lot.

She wasn't too happy about all the snow we got last week. It was too deep for her to walk on her own, and she was mad at me because we couldn't bring her police car out to drive in the snow. She did enjoy her sled for a few minutes and took her mitten of to experience the snow. She took a bite of it and was a little surprised by how cold it was.

She has a large sign language vocabulary now, and is able to tell me what she wants or needs. She is so proud of herself whenever she uses a new sign, her newest one is "help". She is also turning into a monkey, she climbs on everything these days! She called me from the kitchen the other day, she had climbed up into her highchair all by herself. Nothing in the house is safe anymore. Even the cats can't hide from her anymore.

New videos have been added to YouTube from Valentine's Day.
